Social Responsibility and Vending not just at work…

Thursday, April 4th, 2013

Cafe Blog

Young people in UK educational establishments are helping fund schools in Africa with Café Karibu, it’s a simple setup and one where every one plays their part. Some of the profits generated from the sales through the vending machine are helping to supply much needed resources to a remote school in Tanzania.

Revive have installed bespoke banking with unique graphics to communicate what is going on. The students are also updated of progress with the school via an integrated screen at the top of the machine banking. The hot fair-trade drinks are custom made with syrups from a touch screen menu completing the offering. We think you will agree this make social responsibility in the vending industry more fun and tangibly beneficial to people.

The Great Vending Get Together

Monday, October 31st, 2011

What happens when over 100 of the vending industry’s finest get together for EdUKaid’s charity ball? Maybe a bit of a dance, possibly some champagne tasting, probably a late night enjoyed by a later breakfast. But could anyone imagine that £9000 would be raised? That’s enough to almost renovate an entire school in Tanzania. The Vending Industry really demonstrated their commitment to good causes and an awesome time was had by all.

Recycling vending machines creates green jobs

Tuesday, October 12th, 2010

Revive are constantly replacing vending machines with more energy efficient vending machines, this is great for reducing energy consumption however this leaves us with a machine to dispose of responsibly. We have found a perfect solution, round up all the old machines, water coolers, used parts and have them sent to the Think 3e group. They specialise in green jobs that deliver community benefit. How? they provide work for offenders and the out of work training them up in how to dismantle and recycle all components.

Revive make special delivery to Africa

Tuesday, July 6th, 2010

Revive support a charity called Edukaid by giving them free office space and also help with administration costs and fund raising events. Edukaid aims to improve the provision and quality of education in the developing world. Their work is currently centered in Tanzania and in June this year, Revives MD Tim Varney or “Mr Tim” as he is known in Tanzania, made a special trip to see for himself how the money raised was being spent. Not only did he get the chance to talk to teachers, school children and all of Edukaids Tanzanian staff but he also supervised the delivery of desks and chairs to a science class at Singino Primary school.

Mr Tim said “watching the children dressed in their school uniforms, carry the desks and chairs up the long steep hill will stay in my mind for ever. The fact that they were all smiling, happy and excited to be receiving this basic equipment brought home to me how just a small donation from the UK can transform the lives of children in a place like Tanzania”. Solent Uni do Well

Monday, February 15th, 2010

Pictured right are Nick & Dawn from Solent University receiving a certificate confirming that an “Elephant” water pump has been built from the funds raised from Solent University.

Vending in Universities is necessary to keep students well hydrated around the clock. We have seen a healthy habit develop in our Vending customers as more of them opt to keep themselves hydrated with water.

Revive Director to run ten x 10K runs in 10 months to raise £10,000 for EdUKaid

Tuesday, November 24th, 2009

A message from the Director of Revive….

I know what you are thinking? How is Tim Varney going to haul his 17 ½ stone frame around one 10K run let alone ten? Well, it’s a very good question but I needed to set a target that would challenge me enough to inspire my friends to part with some cash or even join in and race with me. So pictured left is me with my new personal trainer Keo.  Keo is the family’s newest addition and like all Labradoodle’s he has got loads of energy.
